This woman simply needs someone to hold her hand, cheer her on, and believe with her that she is still capable of being the person she intended to be. Please pray for our hearts as we seek The Lord and what His best is for each of us individually as His daughters. In She's Still There, Chrystal not only shares her story, but she also provides clear and sound suggestions on how to tell yours as well. Though I'm still a work in progress, this inspired book has been an incredible catalyst in finding myself again. It's never too late to find who you are meant to be, no matter how lost or off track you feel. I make sure that my son not only has a childhood, but that we create lasting memories together for him to replay at any time, at any moment, whenever, wherever, forever. I've been there, more than once.
And I had some commitments I could not back out of. Our dark moments are only moments in time. I got way much more from this book than I anticipated! This is a bold, honest, and lifechanging book! Her faith shines through as does her genuine heart. If you apply the Jewels in this book to your life and unique circumstances you will be blessed and on your way. One day she realized that she had somehow wandered from the life she was meant to live.
We are reminded that Drifts in life don't last forever. Her own story and examples provide clear evidence that she has lived the principles she shares. Sometimes we simply need someone to hold our hand, cheer us on, and believe we are still capable of being who we intended to be. We went on vacation and I took all social media off my phone and tried to set it aside more often then I was on it. What's a woman to do, if her life is not taking shape the way that she thought that it would despite all of the knowledge available and possibly even consumed? Every chapter starts with a personal story, then she ties it in spiritually and really starts bringing it. One of those things was helping launch Chrystal Evans Hurst's new book She's Still There: Rescuing the Girl in You. This is an outstanding book about finding and rescuing the girl in you.
Hurst doesn't tell you how to live your life or think about your life. Another major takeaway from the book is that even though you feel disappointed by life, you need to press the unpause the pause button because the clock is ticking. What does she do when she sees that, somehow, her life has drifted away from all her original hopes, dreams, or plans? This book causes you to slow down and discover that the girl is still there. The reminder that we are always a work in progress so certainly needed in my time of feeling lost. To really examine the life we live, and embrace the place we are in.
Her heartfelt experiences lead us to courage, faith, and wisdom to live well. So, I began planning for a break. In this six-session video Bible study, Chrystal Evans Hurst shares what she's learned about how to love and honor your life - even when it's not easy to love. As I read She's Still There I began to see that God never gave up on the girl in me. Chrystal has a unique way of sharing her relatable stories and teaching some pinpoints along the way. For me, the past decade was sort of crazy Ok, it was actually Lifetime movie crazy if I'm going to be honest.
Featuring Best-Selling Authors Lisa Harper and Chrystal Evans Hurst with Worship lead by Meredith Andrews. The author goes on to remind us of the importance of doing what we can with what we have. We are encouraged too to pay attention to the decisions we are making the way we are living life, because that is important! We have to choose to honor ourselves. Chrystal since discovered that this moment of awareness happens to lots of women at different seasons of their lives. We get so caught up in everyday life that we sometimes lose ourselves and are just completely overwhelmed by the busyness of it all. I consider myself spiritual, but not greatly religious, so this book wasn't the best fit for me.
This groundbreaking work will reconnect you to the joyful and, yes, sometimes tearful discovery of the person God created you to be. She went from believing that God would use her greatly to wondering if he could use her at all. Maybe you are just finishing school and are thinking, what now? We are reminded too that significance is a gift to be both given and received. In this book we are also reminded that we carry precious cargo. Poor decisions, a lack of intentionality or planning, or a long-term denial of deep hopes and dreams can leave a woman, old or young, reeling from the realization that she is lost, disappointed, or simply numb. As I devoured Chrystal's words, I felt as though she were sitting across from me at a coffee shop. But, it's the inner me looking back at a stranger.
What does she do when she sees that, somehow, her life has drifted away from all her original hopes, dreams, or plans? This book met me in the place that I was in. Her wry humor comes through, but so does her heart for God. A renewed sense of hope and purpose is just a page away. And to never forget that we are loved.
