We would like to thank left to right Logan, Lillian, Alex, Nicole, Su, Sarah, Shirley, and Andrew who had to leave early and not in the group photo for all your amazing feedback and support. What I can suggest for later spring would be best is to try to do a photographic meetup on Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, close to Palo Alto Well I have never done a shoot before. The meetups alternate between the second Saturday and the second Sunday of the month. Just make sure you have plenty of changes with you for parking meters! We are also still doing the annual event at PantheaCon; this year is. There are currently no required dues to attend the regular meetup, although donations are appreciated at the annual PantheaCon meetup for the food, drink, and swag. It is not necessary to attend PantheaCon itself to attend this meetup. There is also a Bay Area social group I have just signed onto it, might be another way of coordinating things for the future.
Following the September 10, 2016 meetup, this group moved from to a private announcement list hosted on Arethinn's domain. I would like to add Fort Point to the list. There are free places on the left of that road a short distance away. You can walk from the Fort right onto the Bridge itself! A special annual meetup is also held at on Presidents' Day weekend, usually on Saturday, if Arethinn and Celebron are able to book a room at the convention hotel. Hackers and Founders is probably the best—I think they meet in the city sometimes too—probably because of the organizers, Jonathan and Laura Nelson.
But again I am used to doing that on a bike so as far as walking. It will be a tremendous help when we update our website later on this summer. Fort Point is in the Presidio area : a vast park that you can almost shoot anything on it. It's right at the bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge. I've only been to a few of the events, so I'm less able to speak to the quality of the people who attend. I am not familiar enough with the area yet to make any suggestions so let's start off with People interested and suggestions for where we could meet. Regarding places I know even less than you about where to go. There are quite a few of us Bay Area Members active now so it's about time we organised a meetup. The restaurant has a great happy hour menu and a view of the Bay Bridge worthy of our special guest, Andrew Aziz, Ph. We are hoping to have another meetup in the near future.
The PantheaCon meetup supersedes the regular February meetup if they would occur on the same weekend. The meetup is primarily social in nature, and is usually held at a local coffee shop or park, rotating through various locations around the bay. They are there not just to meet some of the sharpest up-and-comers in Silicon Valley but help you find your feet and make sure you're aware of others out there with similar interests and shared goals. . I think they open only Thurs-Sun. I am going to be stressed as hell till the 16th of February cos we have 2 important deadlines at work but I can always try to find a spot for the meetup. Maybe if enough people are interested, we could also have a regular night out, meal and chat, every month or so. Travelling the Bay on the ferries for a few hours.
